Pair of Antique Cast Bronze Door Internal Slide Bolts. Last photo shows a similar pair we cleaned last year to give you an idea of how this set could clean up. Flushbolts salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The set consists of 2. Bronze activators, 2 brass-plated steel rods & bolts, 2 bronze guide plates to install on the top and bottom of the door, and the 12 original, installation screws to fasten the plates to the door. All bronze parts are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not plated steel. If you are not familiar with this type of hardware, i. T’s the locking mechanism installed on one of the doors in a pair of double doors, for the purpose of keeping one door stationary, while allowing the other to swing freely. We removed the set from a pair of unpainted French doors. Since the doors weren’t painted, none of the parts were either. They are fairly clean with a moderate patina. The last photo shows a similar set we cleaned last year. All parts have small nicks and subtle scrapes, which are typical for pieces this old. However, there are no breaks, gouges, or cracks. The springs behind the levers are strong, and won’t allow gravity or a bump to retract the bolts once they’re extended. All parts are strong and ready for another lifetime of service. Activator plates : 1 1/4 ” x 6 3/8 ” Rods : 1/4 ” diameter x 9 1/8 ” & 15 1/8. Bolts : 1/2″ W x 1/2″ L x 1 1/2 H. Plates : 7/8″ W x 2 3/8 ” L.
