Period 1850 French style cast brass slide bolt on mount plate for a door. Measuring 4 3/4″ x 2″. The iron bolt throws 1″ and the round operator knob on the end is 1 1/2″ diameter. Made to be used vertically or horizontally and, in this care, horizontal use would be best as the spring is a little weak and may not hold vertically as tightly as it should – it is holding with a slight drop right now.
