Circa 1885 antique sliding pocket door mortise latch, complete and working with strike and plates for both sides of door. Mortise latch has matching Windsor pattern face and strike still showing some original brass plating. Latch has drop catch and round finger pull to pull door out of pocket and recessed oval ornate cast iron operators in the latch. Plates have oval openings to allow access to catch operators from either side of the door. The two flush mount escutcheon plates are in ornate cast iron Windsor pattern also and have been cleaned. Plates are 4 7/8″ high x 2 1/8″ wide and flush mount on the door surfaces. Well cast and marked with the Reading Hardware logo. Complete and working for a single pocket sliding door. 2 Door slide barrel bolt latches fancy iron brass locks Windsor old vintage. These were used as a security latch slide bolt on the edge of a door. The latch is cast iron with a great crisp Windsor pattern cast into the sides. The brass knob shows a small amount of wear from use. It has plenty of life left. It was stripped, wire brushed and. A set of vintage screws is included. It can be used on either left or right hand applications. It is 3 5/8″ long and the keeper is 1 3/8″ long and 1 5/16 wide and 3/4. Thick over the knob. The second latch is cast brass with a great crisp Eastlaske pattern cast into all the sides. The brass knob shows very little wear from use. There are no cracks. The slide bolt is solid brass and the keeper is cast iron with a brass finish. It is 4 5/8″ long and the latch is 1 1/8″ wide and 3/4 thick.
